June 24 - 28, 2004 a group of friends will head for
Port Alberni on Vancouver Island and proceed by boat to Sechart Whaling
Station Lodge. The 'Broken Group Islands' in Pacific Rim National Park
will be our playground for 2 full days and 2 half days. We plan on staying
in Port Alberni the evening of Thursday, June 24th, and leaving for the
lodge on Friday morning. After a weekend at Sechart Lodge, we will catch
the boat back to Port Alberni early Monday afternoon.
Day one - drive to the Riverside Lodge in Port Alberni, Vancouver Island
Day two - catch the "Frances Barkley" at 7:30am from Port Alberni Harbour Quay. A scenic 3-hour cruise takes us up the inlet to Sechart Lodge.
Stay at Sechart Lodge; kayaking for two and a half days. Two meals a day in the dining room and lunch will be packed for each days adventure. Do a little exploring, swimming, sun bathing (clothing optional).
