Who says turning 50 isn't an adventure?
We're planning an "adventure retreat" for
Sandra and some of her friends to help celebrate this important milestone.
It will be held at the Blue Lake Adventure Lodge in William Switzer Park
near Hinton, Alberta; the weekend of January 16 to 18, 2004.
We'll be staying at the rustic Powder Creek Lodge. It
has 9 rooms, each with two double beds and a bathroom. There is also a kitchen - we'll bring along a variety of snacks and drinks for all to enjoy. There
is a large common room where we can enjoy the comfort of a fire, party,
visit, dance and drink the night away.
I'm told that there are some trails right at the lodge, and a groomed
nordic X-country ski area a short drive back towards Hinton. Fishing is close by;
either at Blue Lake or Cache Lake.
They also clear the snow from part of Blue Lake so that we can go ice
skating.
The Activities ...
- Jim's multimedia slideshow
- Ice fishing with Terry
- 'Death-march' with Herb (X-country skis; snow-shoes)
- Skating on the lake
- Lounging by the fire (unless Stan lights it; in which case this activity becomes "smoke inhalation")
- Cards, Scrabble
- 'Saturday night dance party' with instructors Herb & Brenda
